Domestic abuse. It affects families and friendships. This series addresses those traumatized by an individual who expresses narcissistic personality disorder, Machiavellianism, and sociopathy and how these personality patterns relate to their abusive tendencies. The focus for the series is on my personal view and perspective of the victims within my inner circle as well as how trauma from domestic abuse has affected my own well-being.

Wood burning is used to share experiences, illustrating the idea that mental and emotional scarring is akin to the scar a burn leaves on wood.

I hope to achieve a sense of understanding for personality patterns and disorders and how they relate to abuse and those affected, both the victim and the abuser. This process has been immensely therapeutic for my own mental and emotional health as I've coped with betrayal trauma. Unfortunately, it left my mind in a negative space so I chose a more positive approach utilizing the symbolism of the unicorn.
